One Can't Help But Learn... NLP and Hypnosis

So... I was a little stumped over the weekend. I have this great new shopping cart with Shopify. Orders were coming in and being processed automatically. Then all of a sudden someone emailed me asking for the download link.
Panic!
"Huh?" Was my immediate response.
I looked back over the system that had been performing perfectly and noticed that a few others had not accessed their download files either. For a split second my gut hurt - as images of my old P.O.S. (its a technical term) shopping carts popped up in my mind. Pushing that feeling aside, I chose to act.
It was Sunday evening and I decided to email the people at Fetch App regarding the problem. Surprisingly in a matter of minutes I had a response. On a Sunday! The support manager asked me a few questions and I double checked some settings; noticing that for some of the download programs the shipping address request had been turned off. Only the orders not requiring shipping addresses were the ones that had failed to automatically send out the download link.
That was an easy fix!
My immediate conditioned response to the problem was representative of what so many other people experience - at the sign of trouble, we habitually recall the last failed experience or imagine a negative possible outcome. I believe human beings are wired this way as a survival mechanism to keep us alert and aware of potential danger. But, it doesn't necessarily work to our benefit in most situations. The "T-Rex is chasing me" response to a little operator-error with a new software program is dramatically blown out of proportion. That said, we "can't help but learn..." and these default reactions are engrained.
If we can't help but learn, then it's probably in our best interest to reframe our learning behaviors and practice empowering outcomes for old situations. This is the process of creating new neural pathways - synapses firing and sending messages along neural tissue resulting in new behavior.
This is learning and what you practice, you perfect; imagined or real. And, this is the main purpose behind the Attention Shifting hypnosis mp3s and NLP mp3s... Giving you an opportunity to rehearse and practice specific situations; resulting in the creation of new neural pathways.
There will always be surprises and challenges, whether with an online shopping cart or something relevant to your life. How you [re]act in response to the situation will be congruent with what you have practiced, and if you haven't practiced a specific outcome... Well then, just about anything might happen, but it probably won't be what you want. :)
Be Amazing,
Michael
